1Olgha armastuz ezmäižel sijal teiden elos, no eckat mugažo Pühän Hengen lahjoid, a ezmäi kaiked Jumalan sanankandajan lahjad.1Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
2Ken pagižeb tundmatomal kelel, hän pagižeb ei mehile, a vaiše Jumalale; niken ei el'genda händast, Hengen valdas hän pagižeb peitazjoid.2For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.

4Ken pagižeb tundmatomal kelel, hän vahvištab ičtaze, a ken saneleb Jumalan vestid, hän vahvištab uskondkundad.4He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.
5Minä tahtoižin, miše tö kaik pagižižit tundmatomil kelil, no oliži völ paremb, miše saneližit Jumalan vestid. Jumalan sanankandai om arvokahamb, mi tundmatomil kelil pagižii. No om toine azj, ku tundmatomil kelil pagižii sel'genzoitab ičeze paginad, ka nece vahvištab uskondkundad.5Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but rather that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.
6Mittušt ližad saižit, velled, minun sanoišpäi, ku minä tuližin i pagižeškanzin tundmatomil kelil, no en sanuiži teile, midä Jumal minei om avaidanu, en andaiži tedoid, en saneliži Jumalan vestid, en opendaiži teid?6But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?
7Tundmatomil kelil pagižii om kuti hengetoi vändim, mugoine kuti fleit libo arf. Kut tedištada, midä fleital libo arfal vätas, ku pajoiden äned ei erigakoi toine toižespäi?7Even things without life, giving a voice, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?
8Ku torv ei anda sel'ktad toraznamad, ka ken sid' zavodib vaumištadas toraha?8For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?
9Se-žo üks', konz tö et pagiškoi sel'ktoil sanoil, ka kut el'geta teiden paginad? Tö pagižet kuti tulleile.9So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.
10Mirus om lujas äi kelid, no ei ole ni üht, kudambad ei voiži el'geta.10There are, it may be, so many kinds of sounds in the world, and none of them is without meaning.
11No ku minä en el'genda paginan znamoičendad, ka olen pagižijale verazmaine, dai pagižii-ki minei om verazmaine.11If then I don’t know the meaning of the sound, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.
12Muga teil-ki. Tahtoit-ik tö, miše teil oliži Hengen lahjoid? Ka pangat kaik väged, miše sada niid enamba uskondkundan hüväks.12So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.
13Sikš ken pagižeb tundmatomil kelil, loičkaha hän sel'genzoitamižen lahjas.13Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.
14Ved' konz minä loičen tundmatomal kelel, ka minun heng loičeb, a minun mel' ei el'genda sanoid.14For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15Ka midä tehta? Minä tahtoin loita Hengen anttud kelel, no sen-žo aigan mugažo el'geta sanoiden znamoičendoid; minä tahtoin pajatada Hengen anttud kelel, no mugažo el'geta-ki.15What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16Ku kitäd Jumalad vaiše Hengen anttud kelel, ka kutak ken-se azjan tedmatomiš olijoišpäi voib sanuda sigä «amin'», ved' hän ei el'gendand, midä sinä sanuid?16Otherwise if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say?
17Sinä kitäd hüvin-ki, vaiše toižele ei ole nimittušt ližad.17For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.
18Minä pagižen tundmatomil kelil enamba, mi ken-se teišpäi, i kitän siš Jumalad.18I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.
19No uskondkundan suimas minä paremba tahtoižin sanuda viž sanad, kudambid voib el'geta, mi tuhid sanoid tundmatomal kelel. I mikš? Sikš miše voižin opeta toižid-ki.19However in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
20Velled, algat olgoi el'gendusel kuti lapsed. Olgat kuti lapsed pahaze kacten, a el'gendusel — täuz'igäižed.20Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

21In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even hear me that way, says the Lord.”
22Tundmatomil kelil pagižend ei ole mitte-se znam uskojile, a vaiše uskmatomile; a Jumalan vestiden sanelend vastkarin ei ole znam uskmatomile, a uskojile.22Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.
23Ku uskondkundan ühthižes suimas kaik pagižižiba tundmatomil kelil, ka tuldes sinna irdpoližed i uskmatomad sanuižiba, miše tö läksit melespäi.23If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?
24No ku kaik vastkarin saneližiba Jumalan vestid, i ken-ni uskmatomišpäi vai irdpoližišpäi tuliži sinna, hän kaikuččespäi kuliži sanoid, kudambad väritaižiba da sudižiba händast,24But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
25i hänen südäimen peitmeled avaidaižihe. Sid' hän langeniži modol maha, kumardaižihe Jumalale i sanuiži: «Tozi om, Jumal om teiden keskes.»
25And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.
26Ka midä sid' tehta, velled? Konz tö keradatoiš ühthe, kaikuččel midä-ni om: om pajo, om opendusen vai nägudesen sana, om pagižend tundmatomal kelel da om sen sel'genzoitand. Ka olgha se kaik ühthižeks hüväks.26What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.
27Ku pagištas kelil, ka pagiškaha kaks' vai koume, a ei enamba, i pagiškaha jäl'geti, a ken-se sel'genzoitkaha.27If any man speaks in another language, let it be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
28Ku sel'genzoitajad ei ole, ka olgha hän vaikti uskondkundan keskes i pagiškaha hän ičeksaze da Jumalale.28But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29Mugažo sanankandajad-ki pagiškaha kahten vai koumen, a toižed arvostelgaha heiden paginoid.29Let the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others discern.
30Ku kenele-ni olijoišpäi tuleb nägudez, ka vaikastugha se, ken pagiži necen aigan.30But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.
31Tö kaik voit sanelda Jumalan vestid jäl'geti, miše kaik saižiba opendust da tegižihe rohktembikš.31For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted.
32Jumalan sanankandajad voiba pidäda käziš ičeze hengelišt lahjad,32The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,
33ved' Jumal ei tahtoi segoidust, a mirud.Muga kut om kaikiš Jumalan rahvahan uskondkundiš,33for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.
34naižile pidab olda vaikti uskondkundan suimiš. Heile ei sa pagišta, pidab vaiše kundelta, muga kut käskišt-ki sanub.34Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,
35Ku hö tahtoiba miš-ni tedištada, ka küzugaha kodiš ičeze mužikal, sikš ku naižele om huiged pagišta uskondkundan suimas.35if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”
36Jose teišpäi om lähtnu mirhu Jumalan sana? Vai se tuli vaiše teidennoks?36What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?
37Ku ken-se lugeb ičtaze Jumalan sanankandajaks vai Pühäl Hengel anttud lahjan sajaks, ka hän tekaha: midä minä teile kirjutan, ned oma Ižandan käsköd.37If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
38Ku ken-ni ei teda necidä, ka jägha tedmata.38But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39Sikš, velled, pangat kaik vägi, miše sada Jumalan sanankandajan lahj, no algat kel'tkoi tundmatomil kelil pagižendad.39Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don’t forbid speaking with other languages.
40Olgha kaik vaiše ičeze aigan i ičeze sijal!
40Let all things be done decently and in order.
