| 1Jogahine, ken uskou sen, gu Iisus on Hristos, se on rodinuhes Jumalaspäi, i jogahine, ken suvaiččou lapsen vahnembua, se suvaiččou lastugi. | 1Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him. |
| 2Sit müö tiijämmö, müö suvaičemmo Jumalan lapsii, gu suvaičemmo Jumalua da novvammo Hänen käskülöi. | 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments. |
| 3Sehäi ongi Jumalan suvaičendu, gu müö novvammo Hänen käskülöi. I Hänen käsküt ei olla jügiet, | 3For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous. |
| 4gu jogahine, ken on rodinuhes Jumalaspäi, voittau muailman. A se voitto on meijän usko, se voitti muailman. | 4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. |
| 5Ken vie voibi voittua muailman, gu ei se, kudai uskou: Iisus on Jumalan Poigu. Ken? | 5Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
| 6Häi, Iisus Hristos, tuli vien da veren kauti, i tuli ei vai ühten vien, a vien da veren kauti. I Hengi on tovendajannu, sikse gu Hengi on tozi. | 6This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. |

| 13Kaiken tämän minä kirjutin teile, kudamat uskotto Jumalan Poijan nimeh, gu tüö tiedäzittö: teil on ilmanigäine elos. | 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. |

This is the true God and eternal life. |
| 21Lapsuot, püzükkiä eriže valehjumalois! | 21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. |
