Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Sit Iisus pagizi rahvahale da omile opastujile.1Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples,
Häi sanoi: «Zakonanopastajat da fariseit ollah nügöi Moisein sijal.2saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sat on Moses’ seat.
Kuunnelkua sit heijän sanoi da luajikkua niilöin mugah, no älgiä heijän ruadoloin mugah. Hüö sanotah ühtü, a ruatah tostu.3 All things therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do, but don’t do their works; for they say, and don’t do.
Hüö sivotah jügielöi takkoi, kudamii on paha kandua, i lad'd'atah net rahvahan selgäh, no iče ei tahtota ni sormel lekahuttua ku avvuttua.4 For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them.
A konzu midätahto ruatah, ga ruatah vai sikse, ku rahvas nähtäs. Mittumat leviet on heil očas da käzis malittusidiet i mittumat pitkät kistit helmois!5 But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad, enlarge the fringes of their garments,
Hüö suvaijah istuo pruazniekkustolis parahil sijoil da enzimäzel riävül sinagougis.6 and love the place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
Heile on mieldü müöte, ku rahvas luajitah heile tervehüs pihoil da sanotah heile 'ravvi' – opastai.7 the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ by men.
No tüö älgiä annakkua sanuo iččie ravvikse, ku üksi on teil opastai, i tüö kaikin oletto vellekset keskenäh.8 But don’t you be called ‘Rabbi,’ for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers.
I tuatakse älgiä sanokkua nikedä mual, ku üksi on teil Tuatto, se, kudai on taivahas.9 Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.
Älgiägo annakkua sanuo iččie n'evvojakse, sikse gu üksi on teijän n'evvoi, Messii.10 Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ.
A ken teis on suurin, se olgah teil käsküläzennü.11 But he who is greatest among you will be your servant.
No ken iččie ülendäü, sidä alendetah; a ken iččie alendau, sidä ülendetäh.»
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
«Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Midä tüö heittelettökseh! Tüö salbuatto Taivahallizen valdukunnan rahvahas. Iče etto mene südämeh, i niilöi, kudamat tahtottas mennä, etto laske. [13 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Tüö heittelettökseh. Viärüöl kiškotto koit leskilöil da silmiči panetto pitkii malittuloi. Sidä pahembi roih teile tazavo.]14 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter.
Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Tüö heittelettökseh. Tüö kävelettö muat dai meret ku kiännüttiä hos ühtü teijän vieroh. A ku kentahto kiändüü, sit tüö luajitto hänes uavun lapsen, kahtu kerdua pahemban, ku oletto iče!15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of Gehenna as yourselves.
Paha rodieu teile, tüö sogiet viettelijät! Tüö sanotto: 'Ku ken andanou sanan jumalankoin nimes, hänen sana ei maksa nimidä. A ku ken andanou sanan jumalankoin kullan nimes, se on sanal sivottu!'16 “Woe to you, you blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’
Tüö hajuttomat da sogiet! Kudai on suurembi, kuldugo vai jumalankodi, kudai luadiu sen kullan pühäkse?17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifies the gold?
Vie tüö sanotto: 'Ku ken andanou sanan altarin nimes, hänen sana ei maksa nimidä. A ku ken andanou sanan altarin piäl olijan lahjan nimes, se on sanal sivottu.'18 ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obligated?’
Tüö sogiet! Kudai on suurembi, lahjugo vai altari, kudai luadiu sen lahjan pühäkse?19 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
Sendäh, ken andau sanan altarin nimes, andau sen altarin dai altaril olijoin lahjoin nimes.20 He therefore who swears by the altar, swears by it, and by everything on it.
I ken andau sanan jumalankoin nimes, andau sanan sen i sie Eläjän nimes.21 He who swears by the temple, swears by it, and by him who has been living in it.
Muga i se, ken andau sanan taivahan nimes, andau sanan Jumalan valdusijan i sil Istujan nimes.22 He who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him who sits on it.
Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Tüö heittelettökseh. Tüö annatto kümmenenden vuitin m'atas, ukropas da tminas, no kaikis suuriman, mi on Zakonas, tüö hülgiättö: etto ole oigiet da armollizet rahvahii vaste, ettogo kaikes kuundele Jumalua. Nämii käskülöi pidäs noudua da ni toizii ei pidäs unohtua.23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
Tüö sogiet viettelijät! Čakan periä tüö lasketatto juomizen, a verbl'uudan lainuotto!24 You blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel!
Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Tüö heittelettökseh. Tüö pezettö mal'l'an da juvvan ulgoči, no sen süväin on täüzi ahnehuttu da vällillizüttü!25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness.
Sinä sogei farisei, peze enzimäi mal'l'an süväin, ku se ulgočigi rodies puhtas!26 You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.
Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Tüö heittelettökseh. Tüö oletto ku čomendetut kalmat: ulgoči net ollah hüvät kaččuo, a südämes sie on täüzi kuolluzien luudu da kaikkie tülgiedü!27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
Muga tüögi ulgoči ozutattokseh rahvahien silmis oigiekse, a südämeči oletto tävvet kielastustu da viärüttü.28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Paha rodieu teile, zakonanopastajat da fariseit! Tüö heittelettökseh. Tüö luajitto suurii kivikalmoi Jumalan iänenkandajile da čomendatto oigieloin kalmoi.29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and decorate the tombs of the righteous,
Tüö sanotto: 'Ku müö elänüzimmö tuattoloin aigua, müö emmo ollus, kui hüö, viärät Jumalan iänenkandajien veres.'30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we wouldn’t have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’
Nenga tüö tovestatto iččie vastah: tüö oletto niilöin lapset, kudamat tapettih Jumalan iänenkandajii.31 Therefore you testify to yourselves that you are children of those who killed the prophets.
Ga viegiä sit agjah suate se, min allettih teijän tuatat.32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.
Tüö mavot, tüö pahan mavon kannetut! Tüö etto piäze pagoh, teidü suuditah uaduh!33 You serpents, you offspring of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Gehenna?
Kuunnelkua! Minä tüönnän teijän luo Jumalan iänenkandajii, mielevii miehii da zakonanopastajii. Erähii heis tüö tapatto da nuagličetto ristah, toizii tüö rubietto rozgittamah sinagougis da ajamah linnas linnah.34 Therefore behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;
Teijän piäle tulou kaikkien oigieloin veri, kudai mual on valutettu tozioigies Aavelis algajen da Barakien poigah Zaharieh suate, kudaman tüö tapoitto jumalankoin da altarin välil.35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.
Toven sanon teile: tämä kai tulou tämän polven rahvahan piäle.»
Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.
«Jerusalim, Jerusalim, sinä tapat Jumalan iänenkandajii da kivität surmah suate niilöi, kudamii on tüöttü sinun luo. Kui puaksuh minä tahtoin kerätä sinun lapsii, kui kana keriäü omii poigazii siivien alle! No tüö etto tahtonuh sidä.37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
I nügöi teijän taloi roih hüllättü da tühjü.38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
Minä sanon teile: täs päiväs lähtijen tüö etto enämbi näi minuu, kuni etto sano: 'Blahoslovittu on Häi, kudai tulou Taivahallizen Ižändän nimes!'»39 For I tell you, you will not see me from now on, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
