| 1Olkah toisien tykkyämini piällimmäisenä tiän elämäššä. No tavotelkua niise henkellisie lahjoja, ennein kaikkie šitä, jotta voisija tuuvva viestijä Jumalalta. | 1Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. |
| 2Tuntomattomilla kielillä pakasija ei pakaja ihmisillä, kun Jumalalla; kenkänä ei ymmärrä häntä. Henken vallašša hiän pakajau peitettyjä as's'oja ouvoilla šanoilla. | 2For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. |
| 3No še, ken tuou Jumalan viestijä, pakajau ihmisillä. Hänen pakina lujentau, rohkistau ta rauhottau heitä. | 3But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation. |
| 4Tuntomattomilla kielillä pakasija rakentau iččieh, Jumalan viessintuojan šanat rakennetah uškojakuntua. | 4He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly. |
| 5Himottais, jotta työ kaikin pakajaisija tuntomattomilla kielillä, no vielä parempi ois, kun työ toisija viestijä Jumalalta. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up. |
| 6Mitä hyötyö miušta ois, vellet, kun tulisin tiän luo ta pakajaisin vain tuntomattomilla kielillä? Ei mitänä, kun en šanelis, mitä Jumala on miula näyttän, kun miula ei ois tiijonšanoja tahi viestie Jumalalta tahi opaššušta. | 6But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching? |
| 7Tuntomattomilla kielillä pakasija on kuin elotoin šoitin, šemmoni kuin pilli tahi arfa. Mitein vois tietyä, mitä pillillä tahi arfalla šoitetah, kun šävelet ei erottais toini toisešta? | 7Even things without life, giving a voice, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped? |
| 8Ta kun šotatorvešta ei lähtene šelvä iäni, kenpä šilloin tietäy varuštautuo šotah? | 8For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war? |
| 9Šamoin työki, konša että pakaja šelvyä kieltä, kenpä teitä vois malttua? Taivahan tuuli viey tiän šanat. | 9So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air. |
| 10Muailmašša on äijän kielie, kuitenki yksikänä niistä ei ole šemmoni, mitä ei vois malttua. | 10There are, it may be, so many kinds of sounds in the world, and none of them is without meaning. |
| 11A kun mie en malttane pakinan merkityštä, niin mie olen pakasijalla kuin vierašmualaini, ta pakasija niise on miula kuin vierašmualaini. | 11If then I don’t know the meaning of the sound, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me. |
| 12Kun kerran tiän himottau šuaha henkellisie lahjoja, niin staraikua šuaha niitä äijän, jotta rakentua uškojakuntua. | 12So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly. |
| 13Šentäh šen, ken pakajau tuntomattomilla kielillä, pitäy molie ičelläh šelittämisen lahjua. | 13Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret. |
| 14Vet kun mie moliutunen kielillä, niin miun henki moliutuu, ka miun järki ei malta šiitä mitänä. | 14For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. |
| 15Niin jotta mitä pitäis ruatua? Miun pitäy moliutuo Henken antamilla šanoilla, a niise šemmosilla šanoilla, kumpasie mie maltan. | 16Kun kiittänet Jumalua vain Henken antamalla kielellä, niin mitein paikalla olija ulkopuolini vois šanuo «amin» šiun kiitäntäh, kun hiän ei malta šiun šanoja? | 16Otherwise if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say? |
| 17Šie kyllä kiität hyvin, vain tuo toini ei šiitä hyövy. | 17For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up. |
| 18Mie pakajan kielillä enämmän kuin kenkänä teistä, ta kiitän šiitä Jumalua. | 18I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all. |
| 19Kumminki uškojakunnašša ennein šanon viisi maltettavua šanua kuin tuhanšie šanoja tuntomattomalla kielellä, jotta voisin opaštua toisieki. | 19However in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language. |
| 20Vellet, elkyä olkua ajatukšilta lapšie. Pahan ruannašša olkua taitamattomie kuin lapšet, ka olkah teilä aikuhisien ajattelu. | 20Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature. |
| 21Sakonan kirjašša on šanottu: – Vierahilla kielillä ta vierašmualaisien šuičči rupien pakajamah tällä rahvahalla, ta šiitäki še ei kuuntele Milma, šanou Hospoti. | 21In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even hear me that way, says the Lord.” |
| 22Täštä niättä, jotta pakinat ouvoilla kielillä ei ole tarkotettu merkiksi uškojilla vain niillä, ket ei ušota. No a Jumalan viessintuojien šanomat ei ole tarkotettu merkiksi uškomattomilla, vain uškojilla. | 22Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe. |
| 23Kun uškojakunnašša kaikin paistais ouvoilla kielillä ta šinne tulis ulkopuolisie tahi niitä, ket ei ušota, niin eikö hyö šanottais, jotta työ oletta järeltä lähten? | 23If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy? |
| 24A kun kaikin tuotais viestijä Jumalalta, ta sluušpah tulis epäuškoni tahi ulkopuolini, niin joka šana viärittäis ta suutis häntä. | 24But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all. |
| 25Šilloin kaikki hänen šytämen peittomielet tultais näkyvih. Hiän heittyis očin muah, molis Jumalua ta šanois: «Tosieh Jumala on tiän kera». | 25And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed. |
| 26Ka mitä ruatua, vellet? Konša keräyvyttä yhteh, niin jokahisella teistä on mitänih tuotavua: kellä kiitošlaulu, kellä opaššuš, ken šanelou, mitä Jumala on hänellä näyttän, ken pakajau ouvoilla kielillä, ken šelittäy šen pakinan. Kaiken tämän pitäy koituo yhtehisekši hyväkši. | 26What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up. |
| 27Kun sluušpašša paistaneh kielillä, niin paiskah kakši tahi enintäh kolme. Heijän pitäy paissa yksi toisen peräh, ta kennih šelittäkkäh pakinat. | 27If any man speaks in another language, let it be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret. |
| 28No kun šielä ei olle šelittäjyä, niin olkah kielillä pakasija uškojakunnan sluušpašša iänettäh ta paiskah vain ičelläh ta Jumalalla. | 28But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself, and to God. |
| 29Šamoin Jumalan viessintuojista paiskah vain kakši tahi kolme, a toiset tutkikkah ollahko nuo viessit Jumalalta vain ei. | 29Let the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others discern. |
| 30A kun kellä šiinä istujista Jumala näyttänöy mitänih, niin iellini pakasija lopettakkah oman pakinan. | 30But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent. |
| 31Työ kaikin voitta yksi toisen peräh šanella Jumalan antamie viestijä, jotta niijen kautti jokahini vois opaštuo ta šuaha rohkevutta. | 31For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted. |
| 32Jumalan viessintuojat šuatetah hallita omua henkellistä lahjua, | 32The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets, |
| 33Jumala niätšen on rauhan Jumala eikä taho, jotta uškojakunnašša kaikki ois šekasin.Niin kuin kaikissa pyhien uškojakunnissa, | 33for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints. |

| 35Kun hyö tahottaneh mitä tietyä, niin kyšykkäh šiitä koissa omalta mieheltäh, šentäh kun huikie on naisen paissa uškojakunnašša. | 35if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.” |
| 36Tiänkö luota Jumalan šana läksi muailmah? Tahi tuliko še yksistäh tiän luo? | 36What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone? |
| 37Ken uškou, jotta hiän on Jumalan viessintuoja tahi on šuanun muita Pyhän Henken lahjoja, še tietäkkäh, jotta mitä mie täššä teilä kirjutan, ne ollah Hospotin käškyjä. | 37If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord. |
| 38Kun ken ei tietäne tätä, olkah tietämättä. | 38But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant. |
| 39Niin jotta, vellet, kuotelkua šuaha Jumalan viessintuojan nero, ta elkyä kieltäkkyä kielillä pakajamista. | 39Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don’t forbid speaking with other languages. |
| 40Kaikki vain pitäy ruatua kunnolla ta omalla ajallah. | 40Let all things be done decently and in order. |
