Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Minä, Pavel, Jumalan käskabunik i Iisusan Hristosan apostol oigendan tervhutesid sinei, Tit. Mindai oigetihe tomha Jumalan valitud mehid uskondaha, tundmaha tot, kudamb veb jumalahižehe eloho. I hö1Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
voiba nadejanke varastada igähišt elod. Necen elon om toivotanu meile jo ezmässai Jumal, kudamb ei kelasta.2in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;
Hänel märitud aigan hän avaiži ičeze sanan hüväs vestiš, kudamban sanelend om anttud minei Jumalan, meiden Päzutajan, käskös.3but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior;
Sinä, Tit, tozi-ki oled meiden ühthižen uskondan tagut minei, kuti poig.Hüvüt, armahtust da mirud sinei Tatas Jumalaspäi i Ižandas Iisusas Hristosaspäi, meiden Päzutajaspäi!
to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
Jätin sindai Kritha sen täht, miše sinä ladižid sigä kaiken, mi völ om ladimata, i panižid kaikuččehe lidnaha vanhembid kut minä käskin sinei.5I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you,
Uskondkundan vanhemban voib olda hüvätabaine mez', ühten akan mužik, kudambad ei ole miš laida. Hänen lapsile-ki pidab olda Jumalaha uskojin, mugoižin, keda ei voiži väritada vedeluzelos vai kundlematomudes.6if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.
Ved' uskondkundan pämehele om anttud Jumalan rad, sikš hänele pidab olda mugoižen, keda ei voi laida miš-ni. Hänele ei voi olda nenakahan, ridakahan, jomarin, torakukoin, vai mugoižen, kudamb manitusel tahtoib sada ližad.7For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;
A hänele pidab olda adivoičetajan, hüväntahtoižen, melekahan, oiktal elol eläjan da jumalahižen, i mahtta pidäda ičtaze käziš.8but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,
Hänele pidab püžuda toden sanas, meiden opendusen vuiččes, miše hän voiži toižile antta tervhid nevondoid i ozutada vastustajile, miš hö oma värad.9holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
Om äi mugoižid, ked ei voigoi tirpta nimittušt käskvaldad, äi tühjanpagižijoid da manitajid, ezmäi kaiked evrejalaižiden uskojiden keskes.10For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
Heiden sud pidab saubata, sikš ku hö veba segoitushe kogonaižed kanzad opeten midä ei tarbiž opeta, ecten ičeleze ližad.11whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
Ved' üks' kritalaine, heiden ičeze endustai, om sanunu:
— Kritalaižed — kelastajad kaikes,
pahatabaižed, ažlakod, laškad.
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”
I nece todištuz om tozi. Sikš laji heid koval sanal, miše hö tegižihe uskondas tervhikš,13This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
miše hö ei kundliži evrejalaižiden starinoid i neniden mehiden käsköid, ked hül'gäižiba toden.14not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
Puhthile kaik om puhtaz, a paganoile da uskmatomile ei ole nimidä puhtast, sikš ku heiden mel' da heng oma redukahad.15To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
Hö sanuba, miše tundeba Jumalad, a heiden tegod vastustaba sidä. Hö oma lujas pahad i ei sättugoi nimiččehe hüvähä radho.
They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
