Chapter 2 | Chapter 2 |
| 1Tö iče-ki tedat, velled, miše meiden tulend teidennoks ei olend ližatoi. | 1For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain, |
| 2Hot' meid Filippas oli kükstud da nagrdud, kut tö tedat-ki, no meiden Jumal andoi meile rohktust sanelda teile hänen hüväd vestid mugomas sures vastustuses. | 2but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict. |
| 3Konz mö kucum mehid uskmaha Jumalaha, ka mö em kelastagoi, meiden meletused ei olgoi paganad, mö em tahtoigoi manitada nikeda. | 3For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception. |
| 4Jumal om kacnu meid mugoižikš, ked voiba sanelda hüväd vestid, ka mö sanelem-ki sidä, no em sikš, miše olda mel'he rahvahale, a Jumalale, kudamb tedab, mi meiden südäimiš om. | 4But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak: not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts. |
| 5Mö nikonz em olgoi pagižnuded čomil sanoil, sen tö tedat; em olgoi ecnuded peitoiči ičelemoi hüväd, Jumal om sen todištai. | 5For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness), |
| 6Mö em olgoi ecnuded rahvahaspäi ülenzoitust, em teišpäi, em toižišpäi, | 6nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ. |
| 7hot' oližim voinuded Hristosan apostolan oldes tehtas surikš. A mö olim teiden keskes lämänsüdäimeližed, mugoižed, kut mam, kudamb imetab da kazvatab ičeze lapsid. | 7But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children. |
| 8Mö armastim teid muga äjan, miše olim vaumhed andmaha teile Jumalan hüvän vestin ližaks ičtamoi-ki: mugoižikš armhikš tö meile tegitoiš. | 8Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us. |
| 9Ved' tö muštat, velled, meiden jügedoid radoid. Konz sanelim teile Jumalan hüväd vestid, radoim öd i päiväd, miše sada paukad da ei jügenzoitta teiden elod. | 9For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God. |
| 10Tö da völ Jumal olet todištajad, miččed puhthad, oiktad da vigatomad olem olnuded mö uskojiden edes. | 10You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe. |
| 11Iče-ki tö tedat, kut mö kaikuttušt teišpäi, kut tat ičeze lapsid, | 11As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children, |
| 12pagištoitim, rohkenzoitim i pakičim lujas, miše tö eläižit mugošt elod, mitte om mel'he Jumalale, kudamb om kucnu teid ičeze valdkundaha da korktan arvon hoštoteshe. | 12to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory. |
| 13Mö väzumata kitäm Jumalad völ siš, miše tö uskoit sihe sanaha, kudamban kulištit meišpäi. Tö otit sen sanan südäimehe, et kuti mehiden sanan, a kuti Jumalan sanan — mitte se todeks om-ki — i se sana radab teiš, uskojiš. | 13For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe. |
| 14Velled, teile om tehnus mugažo, kut Judejas tegihe Jumalan uskondkundile, ked eläba Hristosas Iisusas. Teiden ičetoi man mehed oma ahtištanuded teid mugažo, kut evrejalaižed — sigälaižid uskojid. | 14For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews |
| 15Evrejalaižed oma surmitanuded Ižandan Iisusan i hänen sanankandajid; hö oma lujas ahtištanuded meid-ki. Heiden azjad ei olgoi Jumalale mel'he i tegeba heid kaiken mirun vihanikoikš. | 15who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and don’t please God, and are contrary to all men, |
| 16Hö telustaba meile, konz mö sanelem hüväd vestid Jumalad tundmatomile rahvahile, ku ei tahtoigoi, miše ned voižiba päzutadas. Muga hö vaiše täutaba ičeze grähkiden märad. No lopuks Jumalan viha sabutab heid. | 16forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost. |
| 17Velled, konz meid erigoittihe teišpäi — ei südäimespäi, a sil'mišpäi — völ enamban mö tusttuim teid i tahtoim nägištada. | 17But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire, |
| 18Sikš olem tahtoinuded tulda teidennoks — minä, Pavel, kerdan dai toižen olen himoičenu tehta muga — vaiše meile telusti soton. | 18because we wanted to come to you—indeed, I, Paul, once and again—but Satan hindered us. |
| 19Kenak om meiden nadei, ihastuz da ülendeluz meiden Ižandan Iisusan Hristosan edes hänen tulendpäivän, ku et tö? | 19For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Isn’t it even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming? |
| 20Ved' tö olet meiden ülendeluz da ihastuz. | 20For you are our glory and our joy. |
