Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Minä, Petr, Iisusan Hristosan apostol, oigendan tervhutesid Jumalan valitud uskondvellile, kudambad pagenikoin eläba levedali verhas mas — Pontas, Galatias, Kappadokias, Azias i Vifinias.1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Jumal, meiden Tat, ičeze melen mödhe om valičenu teid, miše tö Pühän Hengen vedäden tegižitoiš kundlijaižikš Iisusale Hristosale i puhtastaižitoiš hänen verel.Antkaha Jumal teile enamban da enamban armoid da mirud!
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
Olgha kittud meiden Ižandan Iisusan Hristosan Jumal da Tat! Ičeze suren armahtusen täht hän om eläbzoitnu Iisusan Hristosan kollijoišpäi i necen kal't om andnu meile uden sündundan, miše meil oliži eläb nadei,3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
jäl'gestuz, kudamb nikonz ei kado, ei hubene, ei kuiva. Sidä kaitas taivhas teiden täht,4to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,
keda Jumal ičeze vägel varjoičeb, miše tö uskondan kal't saižit päzutandan. Se päzutand om vaumiž, i se linneb avaitud necen aigan lopus.5who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
I sikš olgat hüviš meliš, hot' nügüd' teile pidab-ki tirpta vähäižen ahtištust, sikš ku teiden uskondad kodvdas kaikenlaižil manitusil.6Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,
Ved' kuld-ki pandas lämoihe, miše tundištada, om-ik nece todesine kuld, a teiden uskond om äjan kal'hemb, mi nece kadoi kuld. Ku teiden uskond püžub neniš ahtištusiš todesižen, ka se toškandeb teile kitändad, hoštotest da korktad arvod Iisusan Hristosan tulendpäiväl.7that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
Tö armastat händast, hot' et olgoi nähnuded; hänehe tö uskot, hot' nügüd'-ki et nähkoi, i tö linnet sanumatomas i röunatomas ihastuses,8whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,
ku sat päzutandan. Sikš tö uskot Hristosaha.9receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Necidä päzutandad oma Jumalan sanankandajad ecnuded da tarkištanuded. Hö oma endustanuded i pagižnuded teiden palan polhe tulijoiš armoiš,10Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently. They prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
i tarkištanuded, kut i miččen aigan se päzutand tuleb. Sidä aigad heile ozuti heiš olii Hristosan Heng, konz endusti Hristosan mokid da sen jäl'ghe tulijad korktad arvod.11searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, pointed to, when he predicted the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that would follow them.
Heile anttihe teta, miše hö abutiba teile, a ei ičeleze. Hö toiba teile hüvän vestin oldes Pühäs Henges, oigetud taivhaspäi. Nece vest' oli teiden täht, no angelad-ki tahtoižiba kacuhtada sihe.
To them it was revealed, that they served not to themselves, but to you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
Ka [armhad], olgha teiden mel' sel'ged i vaumiž tehta töid. Pangat teiden nadejad vaiše Jumalan armoihe, kudambid teile anttas, konz tuleb Iisus Hristos.13Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
Kut kundlijaižed lapsed, algat mängoi pahoiden himoiden jäl'ghe, miččiden valdas tö olit ende, konz völ et tednugoi hüväd vestid Iisusan Hristosan polhe.14as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,
Kut hän, ken om kucnu teid, om pühä, muga tö-ki olgat pühäd kaikes, midä teget.15but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior;
Ved' Pühiš Kirjutusiš om sanutud: «Olgat pühäd, sikš ku minä olen pühä.»16because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”
I ku loites tö sanut Tataks händast, ken valičemata sudib jogahišt hänen azjoiden mödhe, ka elägat Jumalad varaiten, kuni elät völ verhin man päl.17If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear,
Ved' tö tedat, miše teid om päzutadud valdale tatoiden tühjas elospäi ei miččen-se kadojan tavaran arvol, ei hobedan da kuldan,18knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,
a Hristosan, sen vigatoman da puhthan Vodnhan kal'hen veren arvol.19but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ,
Händast valitihe jo edel mirun tegendad, a nügüd' lopaigoil avaitihe teiden täht.20who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake,
Hänen kal't tö uskot Jumalaha, kudamb om eläbzoitnu händast kollijoišpäi i andnu hänele korktan arvon. Muga teiden uskond da nadei om ühtenzoittud Jumalaha.21who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.
Nügüd' tö voit puhthal melel armastada uskondvellid, sikš miše olet puhtastanus, konz otit südäimehe toden Hengen kal't. Armastagat sid' toine tošt väzumata, kaikel südäimel.22Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently,
Ved' tö olet sündnuded udes, i et kadojas semnespäi, a kadomatomaspäi, Jumalan eläban i igähižen sanan kal't.23having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.
Ved' om sanutud Pühiš Kirjutusiš:
— Mez' om kuti hein,
mehen čomuz' om kuti nitun änikoine.
Hein kuivab, änikoine lankteb,
For, “All flesh is like grass, and all of man’s glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
a Ižandan sana püžub vahvan igän.
I nece om se sana, om se hüvä vest', kudamban tö olet sanuded.
but the Lord’s word endures forever.” This is the word of Good News which was preached to you.
