| 1Веритӧмыс ─ видзчисьӧм сьӧрті олӧм, тыдавтӧмсӧ тӧдӧмӧн видзчисьӧм*а. | 1Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. |
| 2Веритӧмныс понда миян айезным вӧлӧмась Еныслӧ сьӧлӧмви. | 2For by this, the elders obtained testimony. |
| 3Веритӧмнаным мийӧ пондім тӧдны: муэз да енӧжжез быдӧс аркмӧтӧмӧсь Ен Кылӧн. Сідз тыдавтӧмсис аркмис тыдаланаыс. | 3By faith, we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible. |
| 4Веритӧмӧн Авельыс вайӧм Еныслӧ езъялан козинсӧ Каинысся буржыкӧ. Веритӧмыс понда Еныс пуктіс сійӧ веськыта олісьӧ да босьтіс сылісь козинсӧ. Веритӧмнас сія и кулӧм бӧрас ӧнӧдз баитӧ. | 4By faith, Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had testimony given to him that he was righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and through it he, being dead, still speaks. |
| 5Веритӧмыс понда Енокыс вӧлі босьтӧм енӧжас кувтӧдззас: «Сія эз ло, Еныс эд сійӧ босьтіс». Енӧжас босьтӧмӧдз тай сылӧ вӧлі висьталӧм: «Сія мортыс Енлӧ сьӧлӧмви». | 5By faith, Enoch was taken away, so that he wouldn’t see death, and he was not found, because God translated him. For he has had testimony given to him that before his translation he had been well pleasing to God. |
| 6Вериттӧг Ен сьӧрті он вермы керны. Еныс дынӧ локтісьлӧ колӧ веритны: Еныс эм, и Сійӧ кошшись мортлӧ Сія сетас козинсӧ. | 6Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. |
| 7Веритӧмыс пыр Нойлӧ вӧлі сетӧм тӧдны тыдавтӧмсӧ, одзланьсясӧ. Енсӧ кывзісьӧмӧн сія керӧм ыджыт пыж, медбы мездыны васис ассис гортіссесӧ. Веритӧмӧн керӧмнас сія судитӧм му вывсис быдӧс оліссесӧ. Ачыс веритӧмыс понда вӧлі сувтӧтӧм веськыта олісьӧн. | 7By faith, Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. |
| 8Веритӧмӧн Авраам кывзісьӧм Енсӧ да мунӧм сія муӧ, кӧдӧ Еныс сылӧ вӧлі кӧсйӧм. Сія абу тӧдӧм, кытчӧ мунӧ, но мунӧм. | 8By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went. |
| 9Веритӧмӧн сія олӧм кӧсйӧм муас палаткаэзын, кыдз йӧз муын. Сёрӧнжык Исакыс да Яковыс олӧмась сы моз. Авраамыс пыр и нылӧ эд вӧлі кӧсйӧм сія муыс. | 9By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. |
| 10Авраамыс видзчисьӧм сэтшӧм кар, кӧдалӧн пуктӧм увтыс*б ён. Сэтӧн Лэбтісь-Лӧсьӧтісьыс ─ Еныс. | 10For he looked for the city which has the foundations, whose builder and maker is God. |
| 11Сарраыс абу вермӧм ваясьны, но веритӧмнас сія Енсянь босьтӧм вын сьӧктыны. Сія пӧрисьувья ни вайӧм кага. Сэтшӧм кадӧ эд озӧ ни ваясьӧ. Сія эд тӧдӧм: Кӧсйисисьыс ─ надейнӧй. | 11By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised. |
| 12Сійӧн Авраамыссянь ─ ӧтік шоймӧм*в кодь мортсянь ─ чужис сымда отир, мымда енӧжын кӧдзуввез*г да саридз*д дорын песӧк. | 12Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead. |
| 13Нія быдӧнныс кулӧмась веритіссезӧн. Овтӧнняныс нылӧ кӧсйӧмыс эз вӧв сетӧм. Нія видзчисьӧмась одзланьсясӧ, ылісянь адззӧмась сійӧ да гажӧтчӧмась. Ас йывсиныс баитӧмась, му вылас пӧ мийӧ дзир локтіссез да муніссез. | 13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. |
| 14Баитіссеслӧн сэтшӧма висьталӧмныс мыччалӧ: нія кошшӧны гортнысӧ. | 14For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. |
| 15Нія эзӧ видзӧ юраныс сійӧ мусӧ, кытісь петісӧ. Сэтчӧ нія вермисӧ бы и бертны. | 15If indeed they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had enough time to return. |
| 16Нія туйнысӧ видзӧмась буржыкысланьӧ, енӧжӧ. Сійӧн Еныслӧ абу рожа кулян Асьсӧ пуктыны нылӧн Енӧ. Сія лӧсьӧтіс нылӧ кар. | 16But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. |
| 17Авраамыслӧн веритӧмыс вӧлі тӧдмалӧм-видзӧтӧм. Веритӧмӧн сія пуктӧм езъяланін вылас ассис ӧтка чужтӧм зонсӧ. Сія эд веритӧм кӧсйӧмыслӧ. | 17By faith, Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. Yes, he who had gladly received the promises was offering up his one and only son, |
| 18Эта зон йылісь эд вӧлі висьталӧм: «Исакыссянь чужӧммесӧ пондасӧ шуны тэнат челдяьӧн». | 18to whom it was said, “Your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac,” |
| 19Авраамыс видзӧм юрас: Еныс вермас ловзьӧтны и кулӧмсӧ. Сія бӧр сідз и босьтӧм Исаксӧ, жыв сія кувлӧм и ловзьӧм. | 19concluding that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Figuratively speaking, he also did receive him back from the dead. |
| 20Исакыс одзланьсяас веритӧмӧн бласлӧвитӧм Яковсӧ Исавыскӧт. | 20By faith, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even concerning things to come. |
| 21Яковыс кулікас веритӧмӧн бласлӧвитӧм Ӧсиплісь быд зонсӧ да бедьыс бердӧ видзсьӧмӧн копыртчӧм Еныслӧ. | 21By faith, Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff. |
| 22Веритӧмӧн Ӧсипыс кулӧм одзас казьмӧтлӧм Израиль отирлӧн Египетсис петӧм йылісь да тшӧктӧм ассис лыэсӧ петкӧтны. | 22By faith, Joseph, when his end was near, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones. |
| 23Моисейсӧ чужӧм бӧрсяняс ай-мамыс веритӧмныс кузя дзебӧмӧн видзӧмась куим тӧлісь. Нія эд адззӧмась: кагаыс ӧддьӧн басӧк. Абу повзьӧмась и фараонлӧн висьталӧмись. | 23By faith, Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. |
| 24Моисейыс быдмӧм. Веритӧмыссянь асьсӧ дугдӧм пуктыны фараон нывлӧн зонӧ. | 24By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, |
| 25Сія юрас пыртӧм: гажӧтчӧмӧн да умӧль керӧмӧн недыр олӧмся буржык пессьыны-мырсьыны ӧтлаын Енлӧн отиркӧт. | 25choosing rather to share ill treatment with God’s people than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time, |
| 26Кристос понда видӧмсӧ сія лыддьӧм донажыкӧн Египетсис быд дона торся. Сія видзӧтӧм одзланьсяыс вылӧ, мый сылӧ лоас сетӧм. | 26considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward. |
| 27Веритӧмӧн Моисейыс петӧм Египетсис. Нельки абу повзьӧм ӧксуыс лӧгасьӧмись. Сія видзсьӧм чорыта, жыв адззӧм одзсис Тыдавтӧмсӧ. | 27By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. |
| 28Веритӧмӧн сія тшӧктӧм чулӧтны Ыджыт лунсӧ да резны вирнас ыбӧс косяккесӧ, медбы кулӧтісь ангел эз вӧрӧт нылісь медодзза шогмӧммесӧ. | 28By faith, he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them. |
| 29Веритӧмӧн Израиль отир мунӧмась Гӧрд саридзӧттяс му вылӧт моз. Ны вылӧ видзӧттӧн египетсаыс мӧдӧмась вуджны саридзсӧ да вӧйӧмась. | 29By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up. |
| 30Веритӧмӧн Израиль отирыс сизим лун сьӧрна гӧгралӧмась Ерикон карсӧ. Сизимӧт лунас кар гӧгӧрсис ёнся-ён из йӧрныс*е пӧрӧм. | 30By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been encircled for seven days. |
| 31Кыскасись инька Раав веритӧмыс кузя абу кулӧм мӧдік вериттӧммезкӧт. Сія эд бура панталӧм Израиль отирись Ханаан му видзӧтліссесӧ да мӧдіклаӧт кольлалӧм нійӧ. | 31By faith, Rahab the prostitute didn’t perish with those who were disobedient, having received the spies in peace. |
| 32Мый висьтавны? Абу менам кадыс висьтасьны Гедеон, Варак, Самсон, Иеффай, Давид, Самуил да Енсянь юӧртіссез йылісь. | 32What more shall I say? For the time would fail me if I told of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets, |
| 33Тышкасьӧм коста нія веритӧмнаныс босьтлӧмась йӧз муэз, быдӧс керӧмась веськыта, босьтлӧмась Енсянь кӧсйӧмсӧ, тупкавлӧмась леввезлісь ӧммезнысӧ, | 33who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, |
| 34кусӧтлӧмась вына биэз, пышшывлӧмась лэчыт шыпуртісь, вынтӧммес вынсявлӧмась. Нія ёна видзсьӧмась мӧдік йӧзкӧт тышкасьӧм коста да вашӧтлӧмась йӧз отирсӧ. | 34quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, grew mighty in war, and caused foreign armies to flee. |
| 35Мукӧд инькаэзлӧн кулӧммезныс ловзьывлӧмась.Мукӧдсӧ быдмоза дойдӧмӧн кувтӧдз вайӧтлісӧ. Нійӧ кӧсйисисӧ лэдзны, но нія эзӧ босьтӧ отирсянь мезмӧмсӧ, а лӧсьӧтчисӧ ловзьыны буржык оланӧ. | 35Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. |
| 36Мукӧдыс вылын быд моз сералісӧ, вартлісӧ, дорлісӧ цеп вылӧ, пуксьӧтлісӧ. | 36Others were tried by mocking and scourging, yes, moreover by bonds and imprisonment. |
| 37Нійӧ шупкавлісӧ иззэзӧн кувтӧдз. Мукӧдсӧ быднёж зубытся-зубытӧдз вайӧтлісӧ, пилитлісӧ шӧри, мукӧдыс кувлісӧ шыпуртсянь. Баля да кӧза кучиккез вӧлісӧ нылӧ паськӧм туйӧ. Нылӧн эз вӧв нельки медколанаыс. Нійӧ вашӧтлісӧ, отирлӧн лӧгувьяныс лёк керӧмыс быдӧс усьліс ны вылӧ. | 37They were stoned. They were sawn apart. They were tempted. They were slain with the sword. They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins; being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated— |
| 38Нія, кӧдналісь и чуньпоннысӧ оз сулав быдӧс му вылісьыс, олісӧ кушмуэзын, керӧссэзын, керӧс гырккезын*ж, кырассэзын. | 38of whom the world was not worthy—wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth. |
| 39Веритӧмныс понда нія быдӧнныс вӧлісӧ Енлӧ сьӧлӧмви, но овтӧнняныс нія эзӧ босьтӧ кӧсйӧмсӧ. | 39These all, having had testimony given to them through their faith, didn’t receive the promise, |
| 40Керсис этадз сійӧн, медбы нылӧ локны быдсӧн бурас миянкӧт. Еныс эд лӧсьӧтӧм миянлӧ мыйкӧ буржыкӧ. | 40God having provided some better thing concerning us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect. |
