EZMÄINE KIRJEINE TIMOFEJALE | 1 Timothy |
Chapter 3 | Chapter 3 |
| 1Nece om tozi: konz mez' tahtoib tehtas uskondkundan pämeheks, ka hän tahtoib tartta hüvähä radho. | 1This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work. |
| 2Uskondkundan pämehen tuleb olda mugoižen, kudambad ei ole miš laida: ühten akan mužik, sel'gedpäine, ičtaze käziš pidäi, korgedarvokaz, adivoičetai, mahtokaz opendai, | 2The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching; |
| 3ei jomar', ei torakukoi, ei vaiše ičeze ližas hol't pidäi, a pehmedtabaine da hüväsanaine i ei rahannavedii. | 3not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; |
| 4Hänele tarbiž hüvin ižandoitta ičeze kanzad, kacta, miše lapsed oližiba kundlijaižed da tegižiba sidä, midä heile om sanutud. | 4one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence; |
| 5Ku ken-ni ei voi ižandoitta ičeze kanzad, ka kutak hän voib holduda Jumalan uskondkundas? | 5(but how could someone who doesn’t know how to rule one’s own house take care of God’s assembly?) |
| 6Pämehen ei voi olda se, ken vaiše ei amu om kändnus Jumalaha, miše hän ei tegižihe korgednenakahaks, ika händast sudiškatas mugoižel-žo sudal, kut lemboin. | 6not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. |
| 7Hänele pidab olda korktas arvos irdpoližiden-ki keskes, miše hänen polhe ei pagižiži niken pahad i miše hän ei putuiži lemboin verkoihe. | 7Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil. |
| 8Mugažo pämehen abunikoile pidab olda korgedarvokahin da puhtazsüdäimeližin, a ei jomarin da vaiše ičeze ližas hol't pidäjin. | 8Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money, |
| 9Heile tarbiž pidäda uskondan peitazjad grähkätomas henges. | 9holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. |
| 10I heid pidab ezmäi kacta, i ku nägub, miše heid ei ole miš laida, vaiše siloi hö voiba tartta mugoižehe töhö. | 10Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless. |
| 11Muga heiden akoile-ki pidab olda korktas arvos, hö ei voigoi pagišta toižiš pahad. Heile pidab olda sel'gedpäižin da kaikes mugoižin, miše heile voiži uskta. | 11Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things. |
| 12Olgha abunikal vaiše üks' ak; hänele tarbiž hüvin ižandoitta lapsid da kodid. | 12Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. |
| 13Nene, ked tegeba hüvin abunikan azjoid, saba korktan sijan rahvahan sil'miš i voiba rohktas sanelda uskondas Hristosaha Iisusaha. | 13For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. |
| 14Kirjutades sinei necen, nadeimoi, miše teravas tulen sinunnoks. | 14These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly; |
| 15A ku pit'kästun, ka tedaižid, kut pidab vedäda ičtaiž Jumalan kodiš, kudamb om eläban Jumalan uskondkund, toden pacaz da alanduz. | 15but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. |
| 16Ka, meiden uskondan peitazj om sur': Jumal ozutihe mehen hibjas, Jumalan Heng vahvištoiti: hän om oiged, angelad nägiba händast, hänen polhe saneltihe mirun rahvahile, hänehe usktihe mirus, händast ottihe taivhaližehe hoštoteshe. | 16Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory. |
