Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Minä, vanhemban oldes, oigendan tervhutesid valitud emagale*a da hänen lapsile, kudambid minä tozi-ki armastan, ka en üks' minä, armastaba kaik, ked oma tedištanuded toden.1The elder, to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not I only, but also all those who know the truth,
Armastan teid sen toden tagut, kudamb om meiš dai igän linneb meidenke.2for the truth’s sake, which remains in us, and it will be with us forever:
Hüvüz', armahtuz da mir, kudambad tuleba meiden Tatas Jumalaspäi da Ižandas Iisusas Hristosaspäi, Tatan Poigaspäi, linneba meidenke, ku mö eläškandem todes da armastuses.3Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Lujas äjan minä ihastuin, konz nägištin sinun lapsiden keskes mugoižid, ked eläba toden mödhe, sen käskön mödhe, kudamban olem sanuded Tataspäi.
I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father.
A nügüd', emagaižem, kaks' sanašt sinei — ut käsköd en kirjuta sinei, kirjutan vaiše sen, mitte meil om olnu ezmässai — armastagam toine tošt.5Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
Armastuz om siš, miše mö eläm hänen käsköiden mödhe. Necen käskön tö olet kulnuded ezmässai, i sen mödhe teile pidab eläda-ki.
This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
Mirhu om tulnu äi manitajid, kudambad ei sanugoi Iisusad Hristosad meheks, lihaspäi da verespäi tulnudeks. Mugoine mez' om manitai da antihrist.7For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don’t confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.
Kackat kaikutte, miše em kadotaiži sidä, midä olem sanuded ičemoi radol, no saižim täuden paukan.8Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.
Ni ühtel, ken ei püžu Hristosan openduses, a ližadab sihe midä-ni, ei ole Jumalad. A kaikuččel, kudamb püžub Hristosan openduses, om Tat da Poig.9Whoever transgresses and doesn’t remain in the teaching of Christ, doesn’t have God. He who remains in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
Ku ken-ni tuleb teidennoks da ei opendaškande ninga, algat otkoi händast kodihe, algat sanugoi hänele tervhensanoid.10If anyone comes to you, and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t receive him into your house, and don’t welcome him,
Ken sanub tervhensanoid, se ühtneb hänen pahoihe azjoihe.
for he who welcomes him participates in his evil deeds.
Minai oliži äi midä sanuda teile, no en tahtoi kirjutada sidä bumagale. Nadeimoi tulda teidennoks i pagišta teidenke oc ocha. Siloi teiden ihastuz linneb täuz'.12Having many things to write to you, I don’t want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full.
Sinei oigendaba tervhensanoid sinun sizaren*b lapsed, sen, kudamb mugažo om Jumalan valitud. Amin'.13The children of your chosen sister greet you. Amen.
