| 5Kulgat, armhad velled! Ei-ik Jumal ole valičenu mirun gollid, miše hö tegižihe bohatoikš uskondas i saižiba jäl'gestusen Jumalan valdkundas? Necen valdkundan om toivotanu Jumal heile, kudambad armastaba händast. | 5Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him? |
| 6A tö huigenzoitat gollid. Ei-ik sid' bohatad anastagoi teil oiktust i antkoi teid sudale? | 6But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts? |

| 8I ku tö tozi-ki elät kaikiš korktemban käskön mödhe, ninga, kut om Pühiš Kirjutusiš sanutud: «Armasta ičeiž lähembašt, kut ičtaiž», ka teget oikti. | 8However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well. |
| 9No ku tö zavodit erigoitta mehid toine toižespäi, ka teget grähkid, i käskišt sanub teid värnikoikš. | 9But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. |
| 10I sikš se, ken eläb käskišton mödhe, no kukištub vaiše ühtes sijas, om värnik kaikiš sijoiš. | 10For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. |
| 11Hän, ken sanui: «Ala magada verhan akanke», sanui necen-ki: «Ala riko». I sinä hot' ed magada verhan akanke, no rikod, ka sinä üks'kaik oled värnik käskišton edes. | 11For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. |
| 12Pagiškat da tehkat kut nene, kudambid Jumal sudib sen käskišton mödhe, mitte pästab mehen valdale. | 12So speak and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom. |
| 13Ken ei armahta tošt, sidä Jumal-ki sudiškandeb armahtuseta. Armahtuz ei varaida sudad. | 13For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. |
| 14Velled, midä ližad om siš, ku ristit sanub, miše uskob, no iče ei tege nimiččid tegoid? Voib-ik mugoine uskond päzutada händast? | 14What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him? |
| 15Ku sinun vellel vai sizarel ei ole sobid da jogapäiväšt sömäd, | 15And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, |
| 16ka mittušt ližad linneb sinun sanoiš: «Mängat mirunke, lämbitagatoiš da sögat külläks», ku ed anda heile sidä, miš heil om mairiž? | 16and one of you tells them, “Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it? |
| 17Muga om uskondanke-ki. Üksin, tegoita, se om kolnu. | 17Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. |
| 18Voib olda, ken-ni sanub: «Sinai om uskond, minai tegod.» Minä sanun hänele vastha: «Ozuta sinä minei uskond tegoita, a minä ozutan sinei uskondan ičein tegoil.» | 18Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. |
| 19Sinä uskod, miše Jumal om vaiše üks', i hüvin teged. No ved' pahad henged-ki uskoba da säraidaba. | 19You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. |
| 20No ed-ik sinä, tühj mez', näge: uskond tegoita om kolnu. | 20But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? |
| 21Ei-ik tegoiden tagut meiden ezitat Avraam ole tehnus tozioiktaks, ku pani ičeze poigan Isakan žertvaks altarile? | 21Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? |
| 22Näged: uskond oli hänen tegoiš, a tegoiš uskond tegihe täudeks. | 22You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected. |
| 23Muga tuli todeks Pühiden Kirjutusiden sana: «Avraam uskoi Jumalale, i Jumal lugi hänen uskondan hänele tozioiktuseks.» Muga hän sai nimen «Jumalan sebranik». | 23So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. |

| 26Muga kut hibj om kolnu hengeta, muga uskond-ki om kolnu tegoita. | 26For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. |
